Paul Pogba Named Europa League Player Of The Season 2016-2017

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been crowned the Europa League Player of the Season for 2016 - 2017 beating his United colleagues Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic after helping Manchester United to win Europa Cup for the first time 2 - 0 against Ajax and qualified for this season Champions League. The award was the first in this category under UEFA Europa League.

Pogba scored scored three goals through the competition was selected by a panel comprises of the coaches of the 48 clubs involved in the Europa League competition in addition to 55 journalists selected by the European Sports Media (ESM) group. He said : "I'm really honoured to be the first to win the best player for the UEFA Europa League. Hopefully this season will be as good as last season -- let's see!"

Meanwhile, Eight Manchester United players were named in the Europa League squad of the season, selected by UEFA's technical observers, which includes Pogba, returnee United's striker Ibrahimovic, Goalkeeper Sergio Romero, Antonio Valencia, Ander Herrera, Henrikh Mkhitaryan etc. Ajax's 17-years old defender Matthijs De Ligt, former Lyon and now Arsenal player Alexandre Lacazette etc
