

The Nigeria and Africa legend nicknamed "Big Boss" was reported died of cardiac arrest in Benin City at the age of 54. Stephen Okechukwu Keshi who late last year lost his wife to cancer has represented Nigeria from the 80's at the highest international levels to 90's more than a decade.

Big Boss was a fearsome player while playing for Super Eagles and scores vital goals from his central defending role. He started from 1982 at age 20 and was the captain when Nigeria lifted the trophy in 1994. He has lifted the Africa Cup of Nations has a player and coach, making him the second person to do so behind the Egyptian coach when he won the cup for Nigeria in 2013.

He has also coached Togo to qualify for World Cup and as well Mali to Nations Cup.
He is survived by four children.
