UEFA Champions League Draw Today!

The wait is soon be over as teams are gearing up for the 2017 - 2018 UEFA Champions League group stage draw taking place at 17:00 BST today in Monaco.

This week ends the qualifying play-off of teams across Europe, with the English Premier League having five-teams after Liverpool overcame TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 6 - 3 on aggregates to be fifth team while Manchester United despite ending last season 6th position still qualified as a result Europa Cup won in May against Ajax. 

The draw will forms eight group of four teams each in the group. All eyes will be on Real Madrid, as they have successfully defended the trophy won two season ago, coming to the draw as the Champions and based on the fine form this season might go on to do a-triple of the UEFA trophy.

Here is the seeding for the group stage: the pots and likely teams to meet. Teams from same country will not meet each other at this stage...

Pot 1: Bayern Munich, Benfica, Chelsea, Juventus, Monaco, Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, Spartak Moscow.

Pot 2: Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, FC Porto, Sevilla.

Pot 3: Anderlecht, Besiktas, FC Basel, Liverpool, Napoli, Olympiakos, Roma, Tottenham Hotspur.

Pot 4: APOEL Nicosia, Celtic, CSKA Moscow, Feyenoord, FK Qarabag, NK Maribor, RB Leipzig, Sporting Lisbon.

Pot one contains the holders and champions of the highest-ranked European nations, while the three remaining pots are seeded by UEFA's co-efficient rankings. 

The first games will take place on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 September, with the group phase concluding with matchday six on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 December.
