PSG came, saw and were conquered.... after leading 4 - 0 in the first leg of UEFA Champions League Round-16 against Barcelona in Paris are of the confidence to do the business in Camp Nou even if they lose but what matters is to qualify for the next round (Quarter-finals) but the reverse is the case.
Under the first five minutes, it was Barcelona that went ahead through Luis Suraz's goal three minutes after kick-off, then hope and patience set-in with the home fans in amazing noise and full supports. The third arrived in the second half and it came from Messi’s boot, a penalty driven powerfully to Trapp’s right, after Thomas Meunier had slipped and was deemed to have brought down Neymar as he cut into the area. The decision was given not by the referee – German Denis Aytekin, but his assistant behind the goal-post, who will come in for criticism as he may have buckled to Barcelona pressure as the game unfolded.
There were 40 minutes to go. PSG needed a lifeline and when Meunier crossed it was met by Edinson Cavani whose shot cannoned back off the outside of the post.
Emery then called on Angel Di Maria. The winger made a difference and a free-kick was lofted forward with Kurzawa heading it back into the path of Cavani who improvised to hit a half-volley high and beyond Ter Stegen.
PSG then fancied their chances the more as Barcelona were silent for a while. Now it was all-out-attack and both Cavani and, more culpably, Di Maria failed to finish when through on goal, but the time running out.
Came Neymar who dust himself up after being fouled and delivered a superb free-kick that got PSG's Goalkeeper Trapp deceived and whipped inside the near post. With two goals needed more to achieved the greatest comeback in any European Football UCL if PSG did not score.
The defiance paid-off as Barcelona won another penalty - for a push on Suarez. Neymar with strong will took this one and beat Trapp and, as he struck, the board went up showing five minutes of added time.
Five minutes. It suddenly felt a long time but it was in the last seconds that Neymar flighted over the ball and there was Sergi Roberto to reach it and volley into the net. They did it in Fergie time.
