2017 TOTAL AFCON start in Gabon this weekends with sixteen nations to battle for the trophy and to get the champion that will represent Africa in the FIFA Confederation Cups. Nigeria, three times Champions will be missing out now and as well former Champions South Africa too.
Nigeria will face to avoid missing out of AFCON for the third time in a row after having missing the last two editions hosted by Equatorial Guinea 2015 and Gabon in 2017 respectively, by soaring higher against rivals South Africa, Libya and Seychelles in Group E. South Africa was the team that knocked Nigeria out the last in a group together for the Equatorial Guinea 2015 despite the two teams draw the home and away game, South Africa still top the group to qualified.
Nigeria will welcome South Africa in the opening qualifiers of the 2019 AFCON sponsored by TOTAL to be hosted by Cameroon mid of this year (2017) then travel to Seychelles in early 2018 before having back-to-back with Libya and to South Africa and welcome Seychelle for the last two qualifying matches.
The 2013 Champions, Nigeria now have the chance to edge the South Africans in Group E to top and qualified automatic to avoid third time embarrassments in a row.
