Carlos Tevez is now the world’s best-paid player as he joined the Chinese Super League revolution. Tevez left the South American club, Boca Junior to join with the like of Oscar (recently signed), Demba Ba, Obafemi Martins etc to China.
Carlos Tevez who was turned down offer from West Ham in the Summer that would have made him the highest club earning, signed for Shanghai Shenhua in a mega-money move that is reportedly worth £615,000 per week making him earn more than Messi and Ronaldo, who are on £365,000 a week at Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.
The 32-year-old former Juventus striker is to undergo a medical before meeting up with his new team-mates and will work under Shenhua manager Gus Poyet, the former Sunderland boss. A statement on Shenhua’s official website added: ‘Shanghai Greenland Shenhua FC reached a transfer agreement with Argentina club Atletico Boca Juniors. Carlos Alberto Tevez has officially joined Shanghai Shenhua.’
Tevez spent seven years in the Premier League and won the title with both Manchester clubs. He also lifted the Champions League trophy with United in 2008 before joining Juventus in 2013. He won two Serie A titles in Italy will be joining former Newcastle strikers Demba Ba and Obafemi Martins at Shanghai, who finished fourth in the Chinese Super League in 2016. He also won boyhood club Boca Juniors title after joining from Juventus in 2015 and supporters begged him to stay.
