Nigeria lost again Another Great Coach, Amodu


Just barely three days that a former Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi died, Nigeria again were in a mourning mode on Saturday morning when the breaking news of also a former Super Eagles coach Shuaibu Amodu died from a sleep early in the morning. He is the only local coach that has coached the Super Eagles four times.


Shuaibu Amodu died at age 58, who is the current NFF's Technical Director was buried at 4pm in his home town Okpella according to Islamic rites. Report gathered that NFF are owing the late coach 2 months as salaries.

He has managed different clubs in Nigeria such as Shooting Stars, BCC Lions, El-Kanemi Warriors, he also managed club abroad in South Africa; Orlando Pirates.

He managed the National team, Super Eagles for the first time from 2001 in April to 2002 February after qualifying the team to 2002 World Cup. He got re-appointed for the job as well in April 2008 and got sacked in Febraury 2010.

He was appointed technical director of all national teams in May 2013. He then re-appointed the chief coach in October 2014 after World Cup replacing Stephen Keshi for less than a month. He was appointed again to take charge of the team temporarily in July 2015 before NFF finally settled for Sunday Oliseh as the coach.
